Food Hampers

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”

-Matthew 25:35

Food Banks Canada says

“Thirteen percent of Canadians live in a state of food insecurity, which means they do not have reliable access to adequate amounts of safe, good-quality, nutritious food.”

One of our 17-year-old kids came to us in tears because a parent had lost their job, they had such little food in the house the teenager had been skipping meals in order to make sure the younger kids had food.  Thanks to a network of community members donating food, we were able to bring over 8 boxes of food to completely fill up their pantry again.  The family was able to turn their focus from survival to moving forward and finding a new job.

It's easy to think these things don't happen in small safe towns like Arborg. But they do! Money issues and food insecurity do not discriminate.

We want to not only be a fix in tight situations with our foodbank but also be a resource on how to cook good healthy meals on a budget as a long-term solution. Which is why we also have cooking classes for our kids! Click here to learn more!

We believe everyone needs a hand up every once in a while. The Food Pantry is open to everyone in the Arborg area, not just the youth that attend our programs.

If you or someone you know is in need, please fill out the form below to receive a box on our next delivery date.

We Could always use some more items in our food pantry. Although we can use everything donated we often find ourselves in need of some things more often than others. Click here for a list of our most needed items.
